Sometimes he just says the weirdest things at the weirdest times, or has a very strange thought process. Despite the way he comes off most of the time, the King's overall just a giant weirdo.It's very heartwarming to see him act this way, playing peekaboo with the Prince and thanking him for being born. The final cutscenes during during We ❤️ Katamari shows that the King truly loves the Prince at the end of the day.

His narcissism is amusing and greatly paints his what kind of character he is. Most of the time, it is played for laughs. Despite the King having a huge ego, he can come off to be entertaining.As weird as they can get, it really reflects his overall strangeness and is full of personality. In every game you seem wearing a new outfit that only stresses his eccentricness. His appearance can be over the top and very flamboyant.In fact, he would emphasize words simply because they fit well with the theme of a level. He has a unique and bizarre speech pattern such as using the royal 'we' (using 'we', 'our', and 'us' in place of 'I', 'my', or 'me') or saying some quirky stuff that feels psychedelic for a game that he comes from.Not just the cosmos, The King was able to pay for the damage he caused in Me & My Katamar when he destroyed many animals' homes with a giant tsunami.

This leads The King to fulfill the fan's requests.

While talented, he realized that the people of Earth were fascinated with the Katamari and wanted The King to make more stars.

He is able to make new stars and a new moon with The Prince's help because he accidentally destroys all the stars in the sky.

It's relatable since many people who see The King's relationship towards Papa is complex at first, but ends up getting along.

Later on in his backstory, both The King and Papa reconcile and they started to get along pretty fine after Papa fished out a second-place trophy that did belong to The King when he was little.

There are times when he regrets doing bad things like when he expressed regret for punching Papa as shown in We ♥ Katamari.
